Keeping the Heat On: James’ Story
James, a senior living on a fixed income, had always managed to get by, but rising utility costs in 2023 left him unable to pay his heating bill. Faced with the prospect of spending winter without heat, James reached out to Arlington Thrive for help. Thanks to the emergency financial assistance we provided, James’ utilities were restored, ensuring he could stay warm and safe in his home.
“I didn’t know where to turn, but Arlington Thrive came through for me,” James shared. “Without their help, I don’t know what I would have done.”
A Lifeline for a Family in Crisis: Maria’s Story
Maria, a single mother of two, was working two jobs when a medical emergency caused her to miss work and fall behind on rent. With an eviction notice on her door, Maria feared she and her children would lose their home. Arlington Thrive stepped in, covering the overdue rent and preventing the eviction.
“I was terrified we’d lose everything,” Maria recalls. “Arlington Thrive gave us a lifeline when we needed it most. We’re still in our home because of them.”
