Our emergency assistance funds are currently reserved for Arlington County residents who have been under 50% AMI for three months or longer. If you meet this eligibility requirement, we encourage you to apply for Community Resilience Funds. If you do not qualify, we’ve gathered a list of additional resources that may be helpful to you.

Mental Health Care
National Alliance on Mental Illness Northern Virginia provides mental health support for individuals and families.
Arlington County Crisis Resources include contacts to call/text or come to you if you or someone you know is having a behavioral health crisis.
Arlington County Behavioral Health Division provides a range of programs and services are available to help Arlington’s child, adult, and senior residents overcome or better manage their mental health and substance use issues.

Rent and Utilities
Arlington County Department of Human Services Crisis Assistance Bureau assists low income Arlington residents under the age of 60 who cannot meet their basic needs.
Salvation Army provides emergency services, including food, clothing, shelter, a safe space, and a hopeful word to everyone who needs it.
St Mary’s Episcopal Church provides emergency financial assistance on the second and fourth Wednesday mornings of each month between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. You must apply in person at Samaritan Ministries of Greater Washington at 2207 Columbia Pike in Arlington.
Catholic Charities, Arlington Diocese provides help with rent, utilities and car repair to residents of the Diocese of Arlington who are facing a temporary financial emergency.
Britepaths provides food, financial assistance, financial education, and workforce development services for clients in Northern Virginia.
Northern Virginia Family Services provides rent/security deposit assistance.
