At Arlington Thrive, we lend a listening ear, address those urgent needs, and set our neighbors up for long term success. When the basics of housing, utilities, food, and medical care are secured, new doors for growth open.
Thanks to donors like you, Arlington Thrive has prevented the evictions of 14 neighbors since July 2025 – 3 of whom are children and 4 of whom are over the age of 60 – keeping them safe in their homes. Rita was one of the people your generosity helped.
When Rita received an eviction notice, the Community Navigator was there to help her navigate available resources, submit applications to local organizations, and secure rental assistance to maintain stable housing. During the course of their engagement, Rita set a goal to increase her income. To meet that goal, Rita enrolled—with support from neighbors like you—in a Home Health Aide course through Arlington Thrive’s Employment Pathways program. She is now on track to complete the training and is looking forward to securing a more stable, better‑paying job to support herself and her son.
Thanks to secure housing and a little neighborly support, Rita and her family were not only able to remain in their home but also plan for a future where stability becomes a norm.
