For many families, holiday traditions begin around the dinner table, sharing a delicious meal with loved ones, laughing, and creating memories that last a lifetime. But for some of our Arlington neighbors, the season brings a different reality. Keeping homes warm and ensuring their families are safe and fed often takes priority over festive celebrations.
That’s why Arlington Thrive stepped in to help. Beginning around Thanksgiving and continuing throughout the holiday season, we distributed more than 100 meal kits to families in need, thanks to the incredible generosity of Fito Garcia and the Arlington Women’s Civic Alliance. Each kit was thoughtfully prepared to make holiday meals easier and more joyful. Families received chicken or turkey—or a grocery gift card to choose their preferred protein—along with simple, comforting sides like rice, shelf-stable vegetables, and mac and cheese.
Because every neighbor deserves the dignity and joy of sharing a meal with the people they love, these kits were more than food; they were a reminder that our community cares. In a season that can feel overwhelming for those facing financial hardship, these acts of kindness bring hope and connection.
We are deeply grateful to our partners and donors who made this possible. Together, we are ensuring that the holidays remain a time of warmth, celebration, and togetherness for all Arlington families.
