Arlington Thrive is excited to announce the launch of our Employment Pathways Program. An initiative supported by Accenture, it is designed to enhance our current Community Navigator services and provide greater economic stability to low-income families in Arlington. This program aims to build bridges for families to access employment opportunities through education and skills development programs connected to a credential or certificate that will lead to better paying jobs.
Our existing Community Navigator Program has been pivotal in helping individuals and families navigate the complex web of services available to them. The Community Navigator walks hand in hand with individuals as they set and achieve attainable goals to support economic and social stability, provide resources for career advancement, and help families overcome challenges.
However, many participants face significant obstacles accessing educational and training programs that will improve their ability to secure a better paying job. Many families feel discouraged from engaging in such programs because they may require financial assistance, transportation, childcare, and other supportive services to benefit from these programs. To address these challenges, the Employment Pathways Program will provide financial assistance to participants for skills development programs, along with additional stipends for transportation and essential equipment for their programs.
A crucial aspect of the Employment Pathways Program is volunteer mentors. The volunteer mentors will offer their expertise to help clients explore job options, develop resumes, improve interview skills, and strategize their job search efforts. This mentorship is designed to provide support during the transition period as clients complete their training and begin looking for employment.
