Licia

Licia suffered enormous trauma during her childhood, and she is still working through the legacies of that abuse. As an adult, she has had three heart surgeries, as well as brushes with the law, and struggles with mental health issues. But she has also had jobs that were meaningful to her, is an accomplished cook, and is proud of her artwork. “With all the challenges I’ve had, God has been there to assist me,” she asserts. “So has Thrive.” The assistance Thrive gave Licia helped her to keep up with her rental payments. She is not one to give up, as she continues to find ways to improve her life. She explains, “There is nothing I went through that didn’t teach me something important, either bad or good.”
