Rachel, a single mother to a 9-year-old son with a disability, sought help from Arlington Thrive’s Community Navigator program to navigate local resources and achieve short-term goals. Facing financial challenges due to limited income from part-time work and her caregiving responsibilities, Rachel found it hard to improve her situation. Through the program, she set and achieved two significant goals. First, she connected with mental health services and is now attending therapy. Second, she is working toward a medical billing and coding certification, with Arlington Thrive covering the certification class costs. With this certification, Rachel is on track to secure a more stable job, leading to greater economic stability for her and her son in the future.
