Zara’s journey as a single immigrant mother of seven was filled with immense challenges, especially when she faced the threat of eviction. Struggling to make ends meet, losing her home would have had devastating consequences for her and her children. Recognizing the urgent need for action, Arlington Thrive sprang into action, determined to help Zara secure her housing and find the resources necessary to support her family.

Through the incredible generosity of our donors, we were able to provide Zara with the financial assistance she desperately needed to pay her rent and avoid eviction. But we didn’t stop there. Understanding the importance of comprehensive support, we also referred Zara to our dedicated Childcare Coordinator, who tirelessly worked to find a subsidized, Spanish-speaking childcare program near her home for her infant within just 60 days. This invaluable assistance allowed Zara to start a new job on her infant’s very first day in the program, providing her with a bridge to work and a path towards stability.
