At Arlington Thrive, we touch the lives of families all across Arlington – including the littlest of community members. Through our Early Childhood Program, we connect families to childcare facilities and organizations within our network. But what happens to families who are expecting and are unable to access the basics?
As we identified gaps in needs for the community, we found that babies’ and parents’ needs were going unmet. Thus, the birth of Wee Thrive Baby Boxes: a box filled to the brim with bottles, teething toys, books, socks, and other baby essentials.
Through the support of our community, 10 volunteers came together to stuff 50 baby boxes, ready to be picked up by families. In the first week of launching, Arlington Thrive distributed 35 boxes to low income Arlington residents. As we continue to support our growing community, Arlington Thrive will be hosting more Baby Box stuffing events.
