At Thrive, we believe every child deserves access to quality childcare, regardless of their family's income. That's why we're proud to have launched a childcare initiative that aims to address the urgent need for affordable childcare in Arlington.
Through a rigorous research process, we identified the critical issue of affordable childcare among our clients and developed a comprehensive strategy to tackle it head-on. With generous support from the community and a grant from Arlington County, we've hired a dedicated Childcare Coordinator who is committed to making a difference in the lives of families in need.
Our Childcare Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting childcare providers through the process needed to accept subsidies and provide affordable childcare slots for families in need. She also assists families to file their eligibility paperwork for the childcare subsidy and matches them with providers that match their linguistic, location, and scheduling needs. Thrive donor funds bridge the gap for clients by paying fees which are not covered by the subsidy. By helping families access affordable and reliable childcare, the Childcare Coordinator makes it possible for parents to work and provide for their families.
This program helps level the playing field for low-income families in our community. It gives parents the peace of mind they need to pursue their careers, further their education, and provide a stable home for their children. We know that the lack of affordable childcare is a significant barrier to economic mobility, and we're committed to breaking down this barrier so that all families in Arlington have the opportunity to succeed.
Enrichment Programs
At Arlington Thrive, we are dedicated to fostering equity and providing enriching opportunities for all children in our community. As part of this commitment, we cover the cost of enrichment programs for subsidized children at our partner centers. We believe that every child deserves access to quality educational experiences, regardless of financial circumstances. Thus, we are also actively working to leverage our network to introduce additional enrichment activities at partner childcare centers, ensuring that children can thrive in an inclusive and stimulating environment.
