In a world where food insecurity remains a pressing issue, initiatives like Meals to Thrive On: Savoring Community reminds us of the power of community. On May 4, Arlington Thrive had the privilege of hosting our second Meals to Thrive event, which centered around the crucial themes of food security and equitable access to nutritious meals.

Hosted in partnership with Breadcoin, Kitchen of Purpose, Arlington Presbyterian Church, and passionate individuals, Meals to Thrive On brought together a diverse group of attendees seeking resources, skills, and community. Through Chef Jonathon’s cooking demonstration, attendees learned how to make simple, quick, and healthy meals on a budget.

Meals to Thrive On was made with community in mind – creating a space to foster meaningful connections among attendees. At its core, Meals to Thrive On serves as a powerful reminder that access to healthy, affordable food is not just a basic human right, but also a cornerstone of thriving communities. As attendees walked away with Breadcoin, gift cards, and resources to jumpstart their access to a healthy meal, we have the opportunity to build a more just and sustainable food system for all.

Meals to Thrive On is not just an event—it a catalyst for change, igniting a spark of hope and resilience in the ongoing struggle for food security and food justice. As we carry the lessons learned and connections made forward, Arlington Thrive remains committed to building a world where everyone has the opportunity to enjoy meals that truly nourish both body and soul.
