As we celebrate Social Work Month, the theme “Social Work Breaks Barriers” couldn’t be more fitting for the work we do at Arlington Thrive. We are proud to share Eliza’s story. She is a single mother who faced incredible challenges but found hope and support through our caring social work team.
Eliza is a loving mother who puts the safety and well-being of her daughters first. When she discovered that her landlord was harassing her older daughter, Eliza had to make the difficult decision to leave her home and find a new place to live. However, the process of finding an affordable rental unit in Arlington was overwhelming.
Thankfully, Eliza reached out to Arlington Thrive for help, and our dedicated social work team was there to offer her support and guidance. We provided her with counseling to help her cope with the trauma of the situation and assisted her in securing a new home by providing financial assistance for her security deposit and rent.
Eliza’s story is a testament to the resilience and strength of single mothers who face incredible challenges. Her unwavering commitment to her daughters and her determination to provide a safe and stable home for them are truly inspiring.
