Our Goals for the Future
At Arlington Thrive, we are always looking ahead—anticipating the needs of our community and finding innovative ways to provide a strong safety net for our neighbors. After a year of significant transition in FY23, our commitment to helping Arlington’s most vulnerable remains unwavering. Thanks to the support of donors like you, we’ve been able to weather the challenges of the past year, and emerge stronger and more determined than ever. As we look forward to our 50th anniversary in 2025, we’re excited to share our goals for the future.
1. Expanding Housing Stability Programs
The rising cost of housing continues to be one of the most pressing issues in Arlington. In the coming years, we are committed to increasing our efforts to prevent homelessness by providing more comprehensive housing assistance and resources. Our goal is to offer both immediate financial assistance for rent and utilities, as well as long-term solutions that help families achieve sustainable housing stability. This includes working closely clients to address the root causes of housing insecurity.
2. Enhancing Access to Healthcare
Healthcare costs can be overwhelming, especially for low-income families. Going forward, Arlington Thrive will focus on expanding access to critical healthcare services, ensuring that everyone in our community can receive the medical attention they need without financial barriers. We aim to provide more support for prescription medications, preventive care, and emergency medical and dental needs, helping our clients avoid health crises that could destabilize their lives.
3. Supporting Families with Young Children
The early years of a child’s life are critical, and we believe every family should have the resources they need to set their children up for success. Building on the success of our Wee Thrive Baby Box Program, which launched in FY24, we are expanding our services for families with young children. This includes providing essential health and wellness supplies, educational support for parents, and access to affordable childcare. Our goal is to give every child in Arlington the chance to grow up in a safe, healthy environment.
4. Strengthening Workforce Development Initiatives
To create long-term financial stability for our clients, we know income growth is key. That’s why we are expanding our workforce development programs, with the goal of helping more adults pursue education, vocational training, and job opportunities. By providing financial support for tuition, certifications, transportation, and necessary equipment, we empower clients to secure higher-paying jobs and build sustainable careers.
5. Building Stronger Partnerships
Collaboration is at the heart of our work, and in the future, we will continue to deepen our relationships with local nonprofits, government agencies, and businesses. By working together, we can maximize the impact of our programs and ensure that every individual in Arlington has access to the resources they need. We are especially excited to partner with local restaurants, providing free meals to families in need.
